Service Areas

With two functional modalities, we offer services in person at various court reporting centers throughout the province of Ontario. In addition, we have affiliations in other provinces, with locations across Canada and the USA that can be utilized for a moderate charge. Alternatively, we can deliver services virtually from our head office located in the Toronto business district on Bay Street. Our building is ideally situated next to the Bay subway station in the upscale Yorkville area, between Cumberland Terrace and Bloor Street, for in-person meetings.


During our 31 years of practice, we have had the opportunity to deliver services and utilize the facilities of many court reporting services in the Toronto, Windsor, and Ottawa corridor, as well as hotels in areas where no such facilities existed, including Thunder Bay, Muskoka, and Parry Sound, among others.


In addition to in-person services, we offer a range of electronic formats for providing resolution services. Even prior to the recent advent of video technology, we offered telephone mediation and arbitration services for parties in different locations, including Canada, the USA, New Zealand, the UK, and China. With respect to providing resolution services by video, we have successfully conducted matters using Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, and other platforms.


At all of our offices clients can expect professional services in each of the following areas:

Adjudication

The legal process of resolving a dispute. The formal giving or pronouncing of a judgment or decree in a court proceeding; also the judgment or decision given.
  • Bruce Ally is a member of the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators and currently has his application pending for the Construction Adjudication roster. He is also a former Chair of the North York Property Standards Committee, where he adjudicated for six years. He has privately adjudicated numerous matters in the areas of construction, employment, contracts, and personal injury.

Arbitration

A form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), is a way to resolve disputes outside the courts. The dispute will be decided by one or more persons (the "arbitrators", "arbiters" or "arbitral tribunal"), which renders the "arbitration award".
  • Currently Bruce Ally, serves as an arbitrator focusing on a wide variety of areas, including contract disputes, construction, and other civil matters. He has completed the requirements for the C.Arb and C.Med designations and is in the process of applying for them.

Investigations

The act or process of investigating; a careful search or examination in order to UNCOVER facts, etc. AND POTENTIALLY ARRIVE AT A DETERMINATION OF TRUTH
  • Bruce Ally and Maurice Ford are both qualified and fully licensed private investigators. Having successfully completed the Workplace Institute’s rigorous program, they have undertaken additional training and passed the provincial licensing certification exam. Given this extensive and highly specialized training, they are often engaged to conduct investigations focusing on allegations of impropriety in the workplace. Common areas of investigation include harassment, theft, nepotism, and racism. Bruce is also an investigator for Canada Post, the LCBO, and other federal institutions, and holds a contract for arbitration services with the Government of Ontario.

Ombudsman

An official who hears and investigates complaints by private citizens against officials or government agencies
  • Bruce Ally is a certified Ombudsman who is capable of conducting investigations ad hoc investigations for private companies as required. This opportunity is often utilized by smaller companies who cannot afford a full time Ombuds person. There are several companies who utilize our services on an ongoing contractual bases.

Mediation

Mediation—is also sometimes called conciliation—is the fastest growing ADR method. Unlike litigation, mediation provides a forum in which parties can resolve their own disputes, with the help of a neutral third party
  • All of our staff are fully trained in mediation and most of them are on the Attorney Generals Roster of Mediators. In addition to civil mediations, we have and offer specializations in sports disputes for the Sport Dispute Resolution Counsel of Canada, Health Dispute Resolution for the Local Health Integration Network, and Child Protection mediations.

Workplace Restoration

Our company has many years of experience in providing workplace restoration. Bruce Ally, Maurice Ford, and Philip Graham are all certified Workplace Fairness Analysts with the Workplace Fairness Institute. Both Bruce Ally and Maurice Ford are consultants for Health Canada in relation to workplace restoration. We have provided these services for both public and private sector organizations, including hospitals, teachers' federations, and similar institutions. On numerous occasions, we have analyzed workplace culture and developed solutions to implement meaningful workplace change.

Coaching

Coaching is a service utilized to enhance individual workers abilities to function better in a team setting. It is often utilized to reintegrate people back into work and/or work is done with the entire group to change the culture and to bring a new understanding of each individual’s contributions. Such that workers are cognise of the workplace culture.
